Green Roofs and Walls booklet

Objective:
The City of Sydney adopted the first Green Roofs and Walls policy in Australia, encouraging residents and businesses to start one of their own. The benefit of a Green Roof or Wall doesnt come in simply building one, it's the long term benefits of clean air and insulation that requires maintenance in order to achieve. I wanted to find a way to inspire people to want to build one but also educate them to choose a green roof or wall that they'd be able to maintain long term.

Strategy:
I briefed a local design agency to create a booklet educating Sydneysiders about the number of beautiful green roofs and walls in their City, as well as showing them different options which required a sliding scale of time and effort to maintain. The book was distributed throughout cafes, gardening stores and cultural destinations across the city, as well as uploaded to Slideshare to enable sharing.

Results:
It has been viewed over 48,000 times on Slideshare, and we've received unsolicited requests for books and information from residents. The City now also has over 100,000 m2 of green roofs and walls dotted throughout the City.
